Uploading content from a DVD
From FloobsWiki
Uploading video from a DVD to your floobs media library is not possible directly. There is a way around it if the DVD is not copy-protected. You can follow this procedure to rip material and upload it to floobs:
1) Install a freeware program called Handbrake If you are using Windows select the Windows GUI -version.
1 b) If Handbrake says that the .NET runtime version is too old, update the newest version. Then re-install Handbrake.
2) Run the Handbrake program and give the following settings:
- Source: select the folder or disk with the DVD content (the folder with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS subfolders)
- Destination file: select temporary folder for storing the output file
- Output settings, encoder: Mpeg4
- Picture Settings: select Deinterlace from the Original section
- Video Settings: remove the check from the 2-pass encoding section
- Video Settings: select 100% from the Constant Quality section (or you can test around with different bit rates)
3) After you run the conversion you end up with a .MP4 file that you can upload to your media library in floobs. Floobs converts the video into the standard floobs format when you upload it to your media library, which typically causes some decrease in the quality.
