To start streaming live from your web cam (embedded in your laptop or attached via USB cable to your computer) do this:

1) Log on to floobs

2) Click "broadcast live" on your "home" page. If your browser does not allow the Floobs camera pop-up, give it the permission.

3) The camera pop-up will ask for permission to use the webcamera. Click "allow" and you should see video from your camera. (If not, check troubleshooting below)

4) Click "floob" to start live steaming video to your channel. When the red light lights up the stream is up and running.

Troubleshooting:

If you see just a black screen after clicking "allow" in the camera window do this:

1) Right-click inside the window and select "Settings..."

2) Click the small webcam icon on the right. From the drop down selection select the camera that you are using.

Tips:

Using several webcams on the same computer:

If you can have several webcams attached to your computer, you can switch the source on fly from the "Settings..." in the camera pop-up. The video signal will continue to go out from your channel uninterrupted.

Playing audio files on the background:

You can stream live video from your webcam with audio on your computer playing on the background. On Windows XP do this: 1) Open the Control Panel and the "Sound and Audio Devices" there 2) Select the Audio tab and and click the "Volume..." button for the "Sound recording" 3) That should give you a "Recording options" popup with several volume sliders. Now check the "Select" box of the "Wave Out Mix" (or uncheck the "Mute" box of the Stereo Mix", depending on the version) and make sure the volume slider is not too low. If you do not have the Wave Out or Stereo Mix (but just Microphone/Line Volume/etc) click on Option and Properties in the top left menu. Now make sure that the Wave Out Mix (or Stereo Mix) is checked on this list and it will appear in the previous "Recording options" window.

That's it! Now you can play music with any music player you would normally use and the music will be played as the audio track when you are using the Floobs camera pop-up. Remember to change back to "Microphone" from "Wave Out / Stereo Mix" to use the microphone for audio input (e.g. Skype calls).

In VISTA the Wave Out is apparently disabled by default, but you can turn it on with these instructions.
